This sculpture was initially titled Dunes I, which evokes images of the desert. We just finished our first ever Slow Art Day group retreat with founder Phyl Terry (U.S.) and world staff members Ashley Moran (U.S.), Jessica Jane Nocella , and Johanna Bokedal . We came collectively in New York and Philadelphia for 9 days of sluggish art, friendship, and fun. In our discussion after the sluggish look, we in fact learned extra about this art work and extra about one another.

In 2009, Phyl organized four folks to go to MoMA and look slowly at 5 artworks. 13 years and 1000’s of events later, they returned once more with a group of 4, but this time it was the devoted Slow Art Day volunteer group with attire to match the art.
