But today, I want to talk about why you might want to opt for a city rather than a beach.

Beach holidays can be a great way to be able to escape the dreads and work of everyday life, instead of having to rush around the office, you can instead just sit on a towel in the sand, and soak up the sun. 

 

This might be quite nice for a couple of days, but when you’ve done plenty of relaxing, you’ll be left with nothing to do apart from even more relaxing. 

 

However, when you’re in a city, there will be an endless supply of activities and things to do.

When you leave Finland, you want to be able to spend some time with the people and the culture of the place you’re travelling to. 

 

However, when you go on a beach holiday, there’s a high chance of you having to spend most of your time with people who aren’t even local. The majority of people at the beach are going to be tourists. 

 

When you go into a city, of course there will be people from all over the world. But you’re also going to be able to spend more time with the locals, and find out what’s it like to live in their city.

I know that for some of us, we don’t want to be surrounded by concrete and buildings all the time. And I’m in the same boat. But the great thing about many of the big cities throughout the planet is that they’ll have some fantastic parks. 

 

By walking through these parks, you can reconnect with nature, exercise more often, and maybe even strike up a conversation with some of the locals. 

 

Not to mention to incredible food that’s sometimes to be found in these kinds of places.

With the impact of the Corona lockdown only just staring, who are the people who are going to be affected by this sort of thing? 

 

It’s not going to be the likes of McDonald’s or Burger King. 

 

At many beach resorts, these kinds of chains litter the place. But when you go into a city, that’s when you can really find some of the most incredible foods. 

 

Small businesses who want to sell to as many people as possible will likely set up in a big city where they’ll be able to get themselves a loyal customer base. 

 

If you know where to look, you can find the best food you have ever eaten.

Despite everything I’ve said in this article, I want to make it clear that I’m not knocking beach holidays. There are times when being able to relax on a beach with a cocktail is the highest pleasure. 

 

All I’m saying is that a city might suit you better.
